Blackened Shrimp Tacos
Made with pan fried shrimp, tThis recipe is easy to make and a nice change to the usual ground beef in a taco.
12 large shrimp, deveined
3 tsp olive oil
1-2 tsp of Tunisian Harissa powder (to taste)
4 small corn tortillas
1 medium tomato, diced
4 tsp. yogurt or sour cream
1 avocado, cut into thin slices
1 green onion, chopped
4 TBSP grated cheese, any kind
1 handfull cilantro, chopped coarsely
1 leaf lettuce, shedded (optional)
Heat 2 tsp oil in skillet on high heat. Peel shrimp. Mix with remaining oil and1 to 2 tsp Tunisian Harissa powderand zest of 1 lime . When shrimp are coated and skiilet is hot, saute shrimp for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat. Add juice of 1 lime.
Heat a clean skillet at medium setting. Warm tortillas for a few minutes on each side. Fill each tortilla with 3 shrimp topped with cheese, diced tomatoes, a slice of aocado, green onion, letteuce, sour cream or yogurt and top with cilantro.
